Adult Learners at the Library (ALL)
ALL for Fun!
Adult Learners at the Library (ALL) is designed especially for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to gather, socialize and enjoy learning experiences.
We meet at 9:30 one Wednesday every month in the Gering City Council Chambers (1025 P Street) and one evening a month at Northfield Haven for anyone who was unable to come to the daytime program.
Programing
Topics cover useful life skills; including nutrition, basic manners, and healthy relationships.
We also cover interesting topics from apples to bees, to music and spiders!
Programs incorporate stories, guest speakers and crafts. We enjoy a mix of hands-on activities and learning opportunities.
Each class is designed to be educational and interesting, yet introducing basic information presented on an adult level.
Past activities have included an open mic event where class members and guest speakers gave a short presentation about a hobby or particular interest. We've also planted flower seeds, and learned about healthy relationships, both friendships and loving relationships. Other topics have included healthy eating, nature and a tour of the local baseball field.
