Services We Offer

April is National Poetry Month. Read some great poetry or write your own. And be sure to join us on April 27th from 1:30-4:00pm for a Poetry Celebration and Open Mic.

If you would like a book that GPL does not own, we can request it from another library through InterLibrary loan for a small fee ($4.50). Stop in or give us a call to find out more.

Come over to the library during regular hours between the days of April 4th and April 13th for the Friends of the Library Book Sale. Different books will be added throughout those 9 days to replace the books that are purchased, so check back multiple times.

As we draw closer to summer, you may be thinking about planting seeds for your garden or flowerbeds. The Gering Public Library will be launching a new Seed Library where you can check out seeds to plant. Find out more about it on April 20th at 6:00pm when we have our kickoff.

Submit photos of you or a family member reading to your pet for our Read to Your Pet Picture Contest by 7:00pm on April 9th for a chance to win a Pet Prize Pack. You can drop off printed photos at the library, post your pictures to our Facebook page, or send them to us in Facebook messenger or via email at gpl@geringlibrary.org

You know those plastic things on bread bags that you normally just toss out? Instead you can drop them off at the library and they will be sent to an organization that recycles them to raise money to buy wheelchairs for underprivileged kids.
