Affiliated as an "Accredited Arboretum" site since 1986

Once a long, narrow canyon, the Northfield Park Arboretum is now a living exhibition of the trees and shrubs that can grow in the Gering area. It includes both a traditional park-like setting featuring plants that can prosper with some extra care and water, and a natural area displaying native plants well-adapted to existing conditions.  Total area of 15 acres with picnic tables, playground equipment, horseshoe pits, sledding slope, tourists information caboose and nature trail.
